Professors

UNIT 4—People Helping will be taught by Pamela Heim, founder and dean of The WomenSchool of Ministry Leadership. Pamela is a graduate of Nyack College (NY) with a B.A. in English and Bible and earned a M.A. in counseling from Denver Seminary (CO). She is the author of A Leader Reader on Leadership Character & Competence, Leading Women's Ministries: A Guide to Effectiveness & Excellence in Serving Women, and The Pastor's Wife: Balancing Her Multiple Roles. She is a frequent retreat and conference speaker. Pamela lives with her husband in Colorado Springs, Colorado USA. They have three children and two grandchildren.

UNIT 4—Spiritual Warfare will be taught by Mark Anderson. Mark grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at age four through the Sunday School program of his church. He was called into pastoral ministry while in high school and to missions several years later. He and wife Sarah spent twenty years in France doing evangelism and church planting. Mark and Sarah work in the United States with the Muslim Ministries Department of International Teams. Mark is also a visiting professor in the Wheaton College Graduate School of Missions, teaching on Spiritual Conflicts and Folk Religions. They focus extensively on discipleship and spiritual oppression.

UNIT 3—Basic Ministry Training/Organizational Principles and Practices will be taught by Danielle Hathaway. Danielle is currently Director of Women's Ministries at her church in California. She holds a BA and MA in Curriculum and Instruction. She became involved with the School of Ministry in the US in 2004 and the Lifesprings School of Ministry in May, 2009. She is currently serving as the Coach of Coaches with this first Lifesprings' school. Danielle has been married to Carl for 38 years and they have three grown daughters and four grandchildren.

 

UNIT 3—Bible Study Methods: Studying God's Story will be taught by Linnea Winquist. Linnea is a Graduate of Bethel University (BA) and Gordon Conwell Seminary (MDiv). Her ministry life has included five years as Associate Pastor at Elim Baptist in Minneapolis, adjunct professor in Bible Studies at Bethel University. four years as a missionary with Kids Alive in Guatemala, and now associate pastor of worship arts at her Chicago area church. She lives in Sugar Grove (Illinois), has been married 20 years to David, and is mother to Anders, Amber, and Soren (17, 14, 9).

UNIT 2— The Process of Spiritual Formation

The Lifelong Process of Becoming Like Jesus will be taught by Jan Johnson. Jan is a writer and spiritual director. She holds degress in Christian education and spirituality. Jan has written seventeen books, including Enjoying the Presence of God, When the Soul Listens, Savoring God’s Word, and many magazine articles.

 

 

Spiritual Gifts—Building a Volunteer Ministry will be taught by Janice Gutierrez. Janice works for Lifesprings as Director of Development. She also works with several other organizations to help meet the needs for leading and equipping women’s ministries. In addition, Janice is the founder the new JUSTfriends Network. JUSTfriends is an association designed to help develop a more compassionate, responsible and just women’s ministry movement.

UNIT 1 — Leadership Basics

Women in Church History, will be taught by Dr. Nathan Feldmeth of Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California.

Dr. Feldmeth is assistant professor of church history and director of faculty development at regional campuses in the School of Theology. He has taught at Fuller since 1982.

Feldmeth has authored The Pocket Dictionary of Church History (2008) and contributed to several dictionaries, including the Dictionary of Christianity in America and the New Dictionary of Christian Theology.

He teaches Women in Church History and Theology, Medieval Reformation Church History, American Church History, Christianity and Science in Historical Perspective.

Qualifications, Qualities and Characteristics will be taught by Wayne Platt.

This course explores the character of a leader, including obedience to God and a commitment to and passion for God as revealed in godly living and servant-leadership. Considers barriers to leadership integrity and the importance of self-awareness in overcoming dark side issues.

Wayne Platt, and his wife Kim, came to Europe in 1989 to take Bibles and Christian books behind the iron curtain. They've lived in Austria, the Czech Republic and for the last 12 years in Wales, UK. Wayne has a bachelors degree in Bible & Theology and has trained as a counsellor in the UK. Wayne has been involved in member care and pastoral care for missionaries since 1995. Currently, Wayne is the head of people development for International Teams UK and provides debriefing for missionaries from a variety of organizations.
